Napoleon Maravegias, President of the TEI Ionian Islands

maravegiasNapoleon Maravegias has been a Professor at the University of Athens since 2000. He was born in Budapest and grew up in Cephalonia. He studied Economics at the University of Athens and continued his studies in France at the University of Grenoble where he obtained a D.E.A. and a Doctorat d’ Etat (1983) with honors and scholarships from the Agricultural Bank of Greece and the A.S. Onassis Foundation.

In 2006 and 2009 he was President of the Hellenic University Association for European Studies (EPEES) and from 2008 to 2010 was Member of the Hellenic Quality Assurance Agency in Higher Education (ADIP). He has been honored by the French Republic with a Medal (2001) and has instructed at diverse European universities. His scientific interests lie in the European Economy and Policy. Furthermore, he has written a lot of studies and reports concerning research programs and has published many articles in Greek and international scientific journals.
