A Website to Get Acquainted with the South Ionian Islands Flora

We wish to inform you that in the context of the project “Database on the environmental wealth of the Ionian Islands for the development of eco-tourism”, a website has been created in order to give prominence to the flora of the islands in the South Ionian sea and inform the public about it. That is http://ionianplants.gr/.

The project was funded by the European Union (European Social Fund-ESF) and by national resources and was implemented by professors and collaborators of TEI of the Ionian Islands under the Act "The Technological Educational Institute of Ionian Islands as an International Pole of Education and Innovation" of the Operational Programme "Education and Lifelong Learning".

The website provides information about Kefalonia, Zakinthos and Leukada and mainly systematic taxonomy as well as photographs of some plants of their abundant and unique flora.

The website will be gradually enriched with new photographs and data and it could be used by teachers and students who search for information about the flora of the islands in the South Ionian.
