Seminar on the Competitiveness of farm exploitations with native varieties in Lefkada

The Department of Food Technology of the Technological Educational Institute of Ionian Islands is organizing in Lefkada a training seminar on Improving the competitiveness of farm exploitations where native varieties are being cultivated.

The seminar that is organized within the framework of the Action "Assessment, promotion and creation of gene bank for indigenous plant varieties in the Ionian Islands" will be held on Friday, 24th of January, 2014 at 14:30 to 16:30, at the halls of the TEI Ionian Islands that are located in Lefkada. The seminar is mainly addressed to growers of perennial or annual crops but it is also open to the public and to any local body that is interested and sensitized to the issue of maintaining separate genetic material of crops in the Ionian Islands.

The project is implemented under the Act "The Technological Educational Institute of Ionian Islands as an International Pole of Education and Innovation" of the Operational Programme "Education and Lifelong Learning" and is funded by the European Union (European Social Fund-ESF) and by national resources.
