EXTENSION OF THE APPLICATIONS’ SUBMISSION

Call for Participation for the Summer School on Organic Viticulture & Oenology

TEI of Ionian Islands with the co-financing of the European Social Fund and the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports will implement under the Act “Promotion of the TEI of Ionian Islands as an International Pole of Education and Innovation” the following program of Summer School, therefore it proceeds to the publication of the call for participation for prospective interested trainees.

  • The program is addressed to:
  1. Students with a relevant scientific object.
  2. Graduates and holders of masters degrees, with a broader background in agricultural science, farming systems and crop management, viticulture and wine production and food sciences and vine products process.
  3. Educators of secondary and higher education with specializations related to viticulture, oenology and organic farming subjects.
  4. Entrepreneurs from the organic agriculture area. Entrepreneurs from the field of organic viticulture, wine production and also by the wider area of vineyards management and production (produced grapes and wine and byproducts management) have priority.
  5. Employees and executives of public and private sector, NGOs, etc. dealing with vine cultivation and production, packing and marketing vine.
  6. Amateurs interested in household scale vine cultivation and wine production by organic methods.

  • A prerequisite to participate in the program is that the candidates:
  1. Are at least graduates of second grade education, and
  2. Have an academic or professional knowledge in the following broad subject areas: viticulture, oenology, agronomy, crop production, chemistry, food science.

  • The main purpose is to provide educational opportunities and to introduce participants to issues of organic viticulture and winemaking. The summer school on organic viticulture and oenology seeks to offer knowledge and specialize on training summer school organic farming, as well as to create trained staff workforce that will be involved in the chain of production, processing and distribution of vine products.

  • Participants will be given a gross allowance of 4.00 € for every hour of training (total gross amount: 240 € per person). They are not entitled to receive financial aid those who attended the summer school cycle 2012 and received the relevant training allowance and those involved in other activities of the program " Promotion of the TEI of Ionian Islands as an International Pole of Education and Innovation".

  • The total duration of each of the two Summer Schools on Organic Viticulture & Oenology will be two (2) weeks and six (6) hours per day.

  • Right for absence: 6 hours (10% of the monitoring hours).

      2. By post to the above address, with the indication: "For the 3rd Summer School on Organic Viticulture & Oenology", date receipt by the TEI on 25/06/2013.

  1. Documents’ submission: candidate’s application form and photocopies of diplomas, certificates of attendance etc.

In case of acceptance, the participants' have the responsibility to provide certified copies of all the necessary documents before summer school starts.

  • Procedure and criteria for selection

The selection criteria are:

  1. The relevance of the training subject to the object of study and / or work
  2. Work experience
  3. Those who attended the summer school 2012 and received the relevant training allowance are not entitled to apply. Neither are entitled those involved in actions of the program "Promotion of Technological Educational Institute of Ionian Islands as an International Pole Education and Innovation" and they receive a salary from it.
