Innovation and Business Unit

The Act of Innovation and Business Unit aims both to design, develop and implement new interventions to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students/graduates of the Institute and to expand and upgrade the existing interventions that took place during the program “Promotion of Business Actions, Innovative Applications and Student Course Selection”.

The objectives of the interventions to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the TEI of Ionian Islands include:

- Developing an entrepreneurial attitude and culture in the student population.

- Develop positive attitudes towards entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial initiatives.

- Promote innovation and entrepreneurship as a major employment prospect.

- Provide knowledge about entrepreneurship and develop basic and specialized business skills/abilities.

- Promote the collaboration between the academic community and the production entities.

- Promote research related to entrepreneurship fields.

In order for the Act of Innovation and Business Unit to achieve its objectives, it will create a single set of activities which will include:

- Introduction and institutionalization of Entrepreneurship Courses with:

  1. Lectures,
  2. Case studies,
  3. Open specialized seminars of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,
  4. Theoretical seminars of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,
  5. Visits to organizations, production entities and companies,
  6. Familiarity with business environments.

For the courses there will be educational material that will include:

  1. Notes of the courses
  2. Case studies
  3. Program of seminars by entrepreneurs
  4. Program of visits to companies and organizations
  5. Works by students in groups, with the support (mentoring) of executives of the business community
  6. Student award procedure.

Education, generally speaking, will be based on different training methods which will combine theory and practice (learning by doing) with an objective to increase the effectiveness of learning in entrepreneurship issues.

The activities are divided into:

  1. Educational Activities (providing theoretical and practical knowledge)
  2. Outreach activities.
