The main purpose of the DME2 Summer School is the introduction of the participants to the subjects of dynamic processes which are developing to the marine and atmospheric environment of the Mediterranean basin, along with their biological and biodiversity effects. In addition, the introduction of Summer School participants at Mediterranean marine environmental subjects of sea pollution, coastal zone mechanics, protection of biodiversity and sustainable development. In order to achieve these goals, the DME2 Summer School develops the following educational subjects :
− Mediterranean region oceanic and atmospheric dynamics, along their effects on biodiversity and quality of marine and coastal environment.
− Administration methods of human effects to the marine environment (emphasizing to coastal zone).
■ The DME 2 Summer School Program is addressed to :
- Graduate and Post-Graduate students of Science and Engineering.
- Teachers of Secondary and Higher Education, with specialty at Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry Sciences.
- BSc and MSc students of departments related with the DME2 Summer School training object.
- Executives and employers of companies, organisations and state services which are related with the subjects of Mediterranean dynamics and marine environment.
- Employers from the field of coastal zone’s and sea recreation activities, sea transportation and yachting and or fishing, with related knowledge base.
■ Candidates must posses academic or professional skills at least at one of the following fields : Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Marine Sciences, Shipping, Applied Mathematics.
■ Participants will be rewarded with the mixed allowance of 4 € per training hour. The total number of lectures will be 65 hrs (for details see the DME2 Summer School’s Program).
The maximum allowed absence time for each trainee is 6 hours.
■ Trainees selection procedure and criteria :
The candidates will be selected in the basis of the following criteria (given in priority order) :
- Academic titles or profession relation to DME2 Summer Scholl
- Professional experience
In case of great number of candidates, a short interview can be asked form participants.
