Invitation to participate in the training seminar of teaching field techniques and avifauna care.

The Department of Environmental Technology and Ecology of TEI of Ionian Islands, within the framework of the educational action “Digital management of coastal and island avifauna”, is organizing in Zakynthos on 12 and 13 October 2012 a training seminar on:

Teaching field techniques, methods of systematic monitoring, administration of first aid and avifauna care.

The seminar aims to train staff supervisors of protected areas and, more specifically, their training in field techniques such as methods and techniques of scientific monitoring fauna species, seabird identification, first aid care and avifauna care etc.

The seminar is addressed to staff of organizations dealing with the environment and, in particular, with protected areas, such as security guards, supervisors, wardens, foresters, cost guards, firemen, users of the natural environment (such as fishermen, hunters) and teachers.

A prerequisite is that the candidates are employed in entities in charge of protected areas or in related educational or environmental entities.

The participants of the seminar will receive a certificate of attendance, as well as the material of the presentations and of the workshops in electronic form (CD-ROM).

The project is implemented under the Act "The Technological Educational Institute of Ionian Islands as an International Pole of Education and Innovation" of the Operational Programme "Education and Lifelong Learning" and it is funded by the European Union (European Social Fund-ESF) and by national resources.
